Climate change is a reality we all face, but how can we best confront the local challenges it brings? How can Citizen Science – a movement where everyday people contribute to scientific research – help us address these issues in practical ways? How can we change our habits, and inspire others to do the same, in the face of these challenges?
On September 16th and 17th, the I-CHANGE project took a deep dive into these questions during two Dialogue Events hosted by Democracy X. These events offered a moment for community members, experts, and policymakers to explore the intersection between local climate resilience and individual action.
The events featured a total of six presentations by experts and stakeholders including a municipal planner and members of the I-CHANGE project. You can explore the insights shared by each presenter by downloading their presentations:
- “Data Collection in Cities” presented by Christian Gaarde Nielsen, Copenhagen Solutions Lab, Copenhagen Municipality
- “Citizen Science in I-CHANGE” presented by Juan Quintero-Marin, School of Architecture, Planning and Environmental Policy, University College Dublin
- “Policy Brief Perspectives” presented by Francesco Barbano, Department of Physics and Astronomy, University of Bologna
- “Changing Behaviors” presented by Katriina Soini, Bioeconomy and Environment, Natural Resources Institute Finland
- “I-CHANGE Thesis on Citizen Science – Building on I-CHANGE Knowledge to Create Change” presented by Selene Tondini, Department of Sociology and Business Law, University of Bologna.
